Do you ever write Post-it notes to yourself? I do.
I attach them to coffeepots, garage doors and steering wheels.
Because I forget things – silly, yet necessary things.
I think most of us need reminders.
We write on calendars, leave ourselves texts or phone messages, and even use post-it notes. In the uptempo pace of our complex tech-filled lives it is so easy to forget things.
Even more, sometimes we can forget who we are and why we are here.
Our Creator understands.
That is why He has given each and every one of us a personalized Post-it note.
You want to know what it is?
Breathe.
Yes, breathe. “The Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground, breathed into his nostrils the breath of life: and man became a living being.” Genesis 2:7.
None of us could ever do this by ourselves, somehow magically jumpstart our own existence.
He only is the Giver of life.
And breath after breath, moment after moment, year after year He is reminding us that He made us, loves us, and created us for a purpose only we can fulfill.
So the next time you feel weary, overwhelmed or distracted, take a deep breath.
See it for what it is, the simplest and clearest sign that the Creator of the universe knows
who you are,
where you are,
and why you are here.
It is a Post-it note from your Soulbreather, a reminder that He loves you, believes in you, and isn’t about to forget you…
